Retracement Inc. was founded in February 2005 to research and develop innovative field data collection techniques for surveying and geomatics.

As part of our R&D, we perform high-quality field data collection exclusively for licensed surveyors.

This work product is not available to the public.

Our current deliverable is the raw angle/distance data from the total station, RINEX files from static GPS data collection, along with paper notes and sketches and digital photos from the work site.

We use the Leica Smart Station platform for our field data collection.  This system combines a Leica TPS1203 robotic total station with a GPS1200 dual-frequency receiver using an ATX1230 ground plane antenna mounted on the vertical axis of the total station. We have developed innovative techniques that leverage the Smart Station’s ability to  collect static GPS data while simultaneously performing robotic total station work.

Our ideal licensed surveyor clients use least squares data analysis and GPS post-processing capabilities and are able to appreciate the thoroughness and redundancy of our field data collection.
